THE BANDURA COMPETITION
Organized by BandurArts and Young Performers Foundation, this competition is a distinctive cultural and musical non-profit event dedicated to elevating the Ukrainian bandura and celebrating Ukrainian heritage and music traditions while providing a premier platform for talented bandura performers. Open to both soloists and small ensembles, the competition welcomes performances of any professional bandura level encouraging a diverse range of musicians to showcase their bandura artistry, technical skill, and interpretive depth.
Participants will benefit from premier exposure on a professional stage, access to a broad and diverse audience, and opportunities to connect with the global bandura community - fostering collaboration, cultural exchange, and the continued growth and preservation of the bandura. The competition also supports artistic development through professional feedback, high-level performance experience, and the chance to build lasting creative networks with fellow musicians and cultural ambassadors.
Open to bandura performers from 10 to 25 years old.
Categories: solo bandura and small bandura ensembles (duo, trio and quartet).
Performers are welcome to enter multiple categories.
