BandurArts is a not-for-profit organization, recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, committed to preserving and promoting the bandura and the rich cultural traditions that surround it. Our mission is to advance bandura music and art through performance, composition, education, advocacy, and the empowerment of bandura players everywhere.
We believe the bandura is more than an instrument—it is a living symbol of Ukrainian identity, history and culture. Through concerts, workshops, educational initiatives, and international collaborations, we work to support artists, cultivate new talent, and ensure that the bandura continues to inspire future generations.
BandurArts Founder
BandurArts was founded by Ostap Stakhiw, the National Artist of Ukraine, internationally acclaimed bandura artist, and a leading figure in the preservation and evolution of bandura art. Revered for his mastery of the instrument and his commitment to cultural advocacy, Ostap Stakhiw has dedicated his life to elevating Ukrainian music on the world stage.
With decades of performance experience and a passion for bandura, he established BandurArts to create a dedicated home for the bandura community - one that supports both tradition and bandura performance. His vision continues to guide the organization as we expand our bandura advocacy, art, cultural diplomacy, educational programs, build global partnerships, and bring the sound of the bandura to audiences everywhere.
