Christmas with Bandura

In December 2025 and January 2026, BandurArts will present a festive concert series entitled “Christmas with Bandura” featuring performances across major U.S. cities with strong Ukrainian and multicultural communities. This project aims to bring the spirit of Ukrainian holiday traditions to diverse audiences through the sounds of the bandura - Ukraine’s national instrument - and the beauty of Ukrainian carols (kolyadky and shchedrivky).

The series will celebrate the universal language of music while fostering cultural appreciation and unity during the holiday season. For each Christmas concert, BandurArts will bring together local bandura players, musicians, vocal ensembles, and youth performers to promote artistic collaboration and mentorship within Ukrainian diasporic and multicultural contexts. Concerts will feature the authentic Ukrainian traditional repertoire and modern arrangements, demonstrating how Ukrainian music continues to evolve and resonate globally.
